Configuring the Number of Embedded URLs to Extract from Files

You can configure the maximum number of embedded URLs to be extracted from the PDF and Microsoft Office files. The number of embedded URLs can range from 1 to 20. The default value is 5.

NOTE: Guest images are used to extract the embedded URLs from Microsoft Office files during dynamic analysis.

NOTE: You can configure the maximum number of embedded URLs to extract only using the CLI.

Prerequisites

• Administrator or Operator access to the Malware Analysis appliance.
• Guest Images Release 16.0901 or higher to detect URLs that are embedded in a Microsoft Office file.
• Analysis of URLs that are embedded in PDF and Microsoft Office files is enabled. For details, see Enabling or Disabling Analysis of Embedded URLs in Files Using the CLI.
